Discovering The Benefits Of Healthy EatingAre you eating healthy foods? If yes, then how do you classify healthy foods from those that are not? Well, we may find the food that we eat daily healthy but we can not be that sure about it. As always, many would say that the food we eat, has something to do with how long are we going to live this life on earth. Since our digestive system is responsible for distributing the nutrients throughout our body, it is important that whatever we put in our mouth should be beneficial to our body’s overall well-being.

If you eat healthy foods, you can prevent yourself from storing too much cholesterol in your body which would eventually lead to obesity. Many people are involved in losing weight nowadays, and more of the obesity issues have been evaluated to be due too wrong food intake. As mentioned, cholesterol is actually a part of this, and since this is a substance that is present in various parts of our body it is essential to keep only adequate amounts of it in the body, enough for the body to function properly, because too much of it can be very dangerous. Healthy food includes vegetables and fruits, which has antioxidants that eliminates the free radicals; found to be harmful in our body. Free radicals roam into our body and cause normal cells to deteriorate, which disables them in doing their regular function and regenerate. If these free radicals are stored in the body, eventually they will be considered as carcogenic. So, one of the greatest benefits of healthy eating is preventing you from acquiring cancer. The more you eat the right food, the better chances of you living a healthier and happy life.

These are just a couple of benefits that you can get from healthy eating, you have a lot of them to look into, however, you would like to know what foods are eligible for healthy eating, right? While there are a lot to mention, you should look into the food groups indicated on the food pyramid because, that is very essential.

Keep in mind that healthy eating doesn’t mean that you have to not enjoy eating at all. Healthy eating is not a restrictive diet, it’s just that you need to make a choice of foods that would provide you more vitamins, minerals and nutrients, than that of pure junk, like for instance and too much sugar.

To live a healthy lifestyle, healthy eating should always be accompanied with avoiding bad habits, getting enough sleep and frequent body exercises, to keep you body fit and full of energy at all times.

Free Weight Loss RecipesI’ve grown accustomed to eating several days a week only unprepared food. It’s a good way to change metabolism and to allow the body substitute the bad fats with good fats. Unlike the popular believe, I am not starving at all, and if anything I’ve stopped feeling that hungry, because I’m not really dieting, just eating naturally. And besides that, the non-fire cooking is easy and you don’t have to be a master in the kitchen to pull it through.

All diets I’ve even considered worthy of trying had to be what I call balanced and nutritive. I always eat 3 meals a day at about 5 hours each and have 2 snacks between the meals, usually a fruit. Basically, my daily plan looks like this:

In the morning I eat either a fruit based shake or a fruit salad with cereals.
At lunch I eat fish or chicken with a salad or boiled vegetables, or a soup and chicken barbecue. Dinner is made of fish and rice, or cow cheese, boiled vegetable and yogurt and so on. I always drink 2 liters of water and tea a day and I eat many fruits between meals.

It has become obvious to be that if I were to lose weight without endangering my health and if I wanted to keep the good results for a long time I had to choose the easy and healthy way. You have to allow your body a while to adapt to any new life style. I’ve started my change by cleaning the fridge: I’ve practically thrown away all aliments that were full of fats, sugar and many alimentary preservatives, the well known E substances.

To help me have a various diet and to find out a couple of thing about non-prepared food and its related possibilities, I’ve found and tried lots of free weight loss recipes that are simply delicious and can be done in a matter of minutes. Each of them constitutes a very consistent meal course, so I never felt hungry after eating them. Here are a few of the free weight loss recipes I’ve used:

Aperitif cake with fibber and cow’s cheese: Ingredients: 7 fibbers, 300 grams of cheese, 200 grams of butter, 2 onions, aromatic plants, pepper, tomatoes juice, crushed garlic, parsley.

I placed this one the first in the free weight loss recipes because I personally liked it the most. You have to mix the fibber with one onion, garlic, the tomato juice and parsley and then mix it some more with 100n grams of butter. You get a composition which you will divide in two equal parts. Place half of it on a plate, just like you would be making a cake. Over this layer place a cream made out of cheese mixed with cut onion and 100 grams of butter. Place on top of this the rest of the fibber pasta and decorate the cake with eatable flowers and weeds. Keep it in the fridge for 2 hours and serve it with lettuce.

Pepper pasta: Ingredients: 5 peppers, 2 green onions or 1 leeks, 100 grams butter, some parsley, a few olives, aromatic plans and spices (curry, oregano, chilly, basil).

You   have to rub the butter well and then mix it in a blended with all the other cut ingredients. Place the cream in recipients and keep it in the fridge, you can serve it on brown bread slices.

Stuffed kohlrabi: Ingredients: 5 kohlrabi, 4-5 radishes, 5 spoons of cow’s cheese, parsley, one onion.

Get rid of the hard parts of the kohlrabi. Cut them in half and hew out the middle. Grate the middle on the grater and mix it with all the other ingredients. Then fill the kohlrabi with this composition and decorate it with radish slices. This is one of the most nutritive free weight loss recipes I’ve found.

Natural soup, very nutritive and tasty: Ingredients: a carrot, one celery, one small beet, 2-3 green onions, 1-2 green garlic with leaves, grated horseradish, parsley and other greens.

You need to grate all the vegetables on the small grater and then put into small pieces the greens and the onions. All the greens and vegetables are to be placed to macerate in a liter of fresh broth. The second day you have to add a litter of boiled and cooled water, tomato juice or whole tomatoes without the peel, salt, pepper. You can server it cold or can be heated up until it reached 40 degrees Celsius. This is one of the delicious free weight loss recipes and it offers our body vitamins and minerals that are easy to assimilate.

Mushrooms and celery: Ingredients: 1 celery, 5-6 whole mushrooms, a few spinach leaves and 1 onion.

The sauce: 4 small spoons of virgin olive oil, 1 garlic, 2 yogurt spoons, salt, pepper, condiments.

You will grate the celery and then mix it with onions that are also cut into small slices, with the spinach cut into long and thin slices, the onion cut well and the sauce. It can be fried in the sauce for 4-5 minutes, until the onions roast a bit.

Chinese sauce: Ingredients: vegetal mayonnaise, 2-3 spoons of milk cream, 1/3 banana, 1 full spoon of coconut powder, 1 curry spoon. You will mix all the ingredients in the mixer and get a healthy salad dressing.

Green mayonnaise: This can be made from regular mayonnaise or vegetal mayonnaise, or from one you make at home with olive oil. Add to it two spoons of cow cheese, some parsley, green onions and 1 spoon of lemon juice and well as salt.

Avocado sauce: You need one avocado cut into small pieces, 4 spoons of milk, 2 spoons of orange juice, 13-4 spoons of yogurt, and one lemon spoon. 1 mayonnaise spoon, curry, pepper, sea salt and aromatic plants. All ingredients will be mixed in a blender until you obtain a source that has the consistency of mayonnaise, this goes well with fish salads.
 
Mixed melon salad: You need one yellow melon a few plums, a few grapes and one pear. Then add 4 spoons of honey and 4-5 spoons of apple juice. All fruits will be cut in small pieces and mixed with the juice and the honey. This is not only a great children’s desert, but also a sweet between meals snack.

Fruit cream (apricots, apples or peaches): Ingredients: 250 grams of fruits, 7 spoons of dried grapes, 2-3 spoons of honey and 150 grams of cow’s cheese plus 100 grams of milk cream.

You will soften the dried grapes, then cut the fruits in slices and blend them together with a kitchen tool with the cow’s cheese. AT the end, add the cream and mix again. Place the whole thing in the fridge for two hours.  Add fruits on top, and you get one of the free weight loss recipes that go perfectly in the summer.

Vanilla and cheese Ice-cream: Ingredients: 200 grams of cow’s cheese, 150 grams of whipped cream, 4 honey spoons, 1 small vanilla sugar envelope and 2 egg yellows.

The free weight loss recipes that are so tasty were always appreciated by my children as well. You have to mix everything here in a blender or by hand, and then add the whipped cream. Put everything in a recipient and refrigerate it for 2 hours, Perfect for the summer day, I’ve tried it many times.

Water Help To Loss WeightI will try to reveal the importance of water in all my diets. There were times when I didn’t really understand how much water counted and at those times I had no idea about it’s mechanism in my body or about the water help to loss weight. I only remembered about water when I was thirsty. I guess those who are suffering because they do not have drinkable water must have understood its importance much sooner, and I can not even imagine how lacking water would be.

I’ve had my share of diets during the last years, after the doctors said I was pretty high on cholesterol for my age (I’m slightly over 30). Also, the fact that everyone around me seemed to be well built, that all my friends were going to the gym as a pleasure and they were constantly laughing at me because I could only pride on my fat behind and basketball shaped belly, while they were showing off their perfect abs and well developed upper arms.

Then, I tried something that had hoodia gordonii in it, and for the first time I’ve clearly read about water and what’s the meaning of feeling thirsty. Apparently, this hoodia stuff was used by people in Africa to help them deal with the extended hunger and thirst they had to endure while left on huge hunting expeditions. The substance comes from a cactus plant and it is used to suppress hunger. Basically, you will eat less, because you are not hungry anymore and this is why you end up loosing weight. Not a diet pill to take by women that are only slight overweight and eat less anyway, because they will end up starving their body. But it’s perfect for men like me, who eat huge meals and go well over the recommended calorie intake every day.

But let’s return to water help to loss weight. I was warned while talking this diet that if I don’t remember do drink water I might seriously dehydrate. Hoodia was taking away my thirst as well, but water was still needed by my body. If I didn’t make a habit out of drinking lots of water, I would’ve ended up in some hospital eventually. All appetite suppressants have this effect.

I’ve also discovered something interesting about thirst. It seems that we shouldn’t even wait until we feel thirsty to drink water. The thirsty sensation is actually a bad sign, it’s a sign that our body is suffering from the lack of water. And we don’t want this, we want it to have all the water it need before it starts consuming vital resource, like the water in blood, which can cause major arterial blockages if it decreases in amount.

Besides, when I started to drink lots of water whenever taking a diet, I was filling up my stomach, so the satiety sensation would come faster. Water wasn’t only covering a biological need that help my metabolism regain normal levels and speed, but also helping me eat less, even when not taking appetite suppressants.

Vitamins MineralsIt’s kind of odd to hear a lecture about Vitamins & Minerals from a man, when women are usually the ones that target a huge daily intake of those two categories. But there are many aspects of manhood that can be seriously deteriorated if the right amount of Vitamins & Minerals is not assured on a daily basis. We are also human beings, and we can also develop serious lacks of certain nutritional elements. Many people would simply resume to taking a multivitamin pill each day, and then rest assured that they are out of the danger zone.

But things are not that easy. When you are overweighed, you are surely lacking important minerals and probably some vitamins, especially the ones triggering the immune system, like vitamin C. And because they have a slower metabolism, they should be actually depositing nutritional elements, and this includes vitamins and minerals. But because they are not processed in time, they do not count as assimilated nutrients and will not help in any way fighting the alimentary deficits.

Back when I was almost obese, I was in fact pretty malnourished, as strange as that might sound. Because the vitamins & minerals I was eating were not properly assimilated and because most of them were burned in the digesting process, I was lacking lots of important things. I didn’t think of taking any vitamins & minerals supplements. I seemed inappropriate at the time to take supplements when I was already overweighed.

If you don’t get enough vitamins and minerals, then you will surely lose all your muscular tissue. When I did decide that it was time to lose all that unhealthy weight, my main focus was on the muscles. Because I am a man, should not have hanging fat circles around my belly. Instead, I should have a full six pack abs. That’s too much to ask when you are merely beginning, but it can be done with effort and determination.

Focusing on fitness at first, I was obliged to learn about vitamins & minerals. Without them, I could not find the strength to perform the difficult sports tasks especially because I haven’t been exercising in a while. But ever since I started to eat healthier, and eat a whole lot of vegetable and fruits, full of vitamins C, A and B, I found a lost strength, one I hadn’t been feeling since my childhood age.

Minerals also help a man remaining active and healthy. Without them, a severe hair loss can occur, stains on the skin and even a dysfunction in sexual functions. So vitamins & minerals are needed for a healthy metabolism. If you are overweighed, they will help speeding up the metabolism a lot, without much effort and complicated diets. That of course if they are associated with regular exercises.

In time, they helped me move from my living room floor exercises to a real gym, because I wasn’t anymore ashamed of the way I looked. In a gym, I saw various people taking lots of nutritional bars to grow muscles. I don’t want to gain weight, even if it’s just muscular weight. When they eat their protein bars, I eat an apple. Must seem funny in their eyes, but it works fine for me. Green tea is also helping me remain active during gym hours, but I’m also drinking plain water, because hydration is essential also.

Vitamins & minerals should not be disregarded by men in their diets. Simply eating a lot of proteins from meat and diary products will not induce the needed effect of muscular growth. Nest to proteins, carbs and water, you also need natural components that help synthesizing the first ones and maintain a normal metabolic speed.

Weight GainFortunately, I have quit smoking many years ago, and it was the best thing I’ve ever done. However, the weight gain when you quit smoking is not a myth, it is real, and it has happened to me in a way that I never imagined possible. You see, I used to be a rather skinny man while I was smoking (and before staring) and I was one of those constantly laughing at my friends that were struggling with diets and were barely eating anything just to lose a couple of pounds more. I simply could not understand the difficulties they had to go thorough, and because I was a person than could usually eat everything he wanted and not gain a pound, I simply thought they were imagining things, and that things can not go that bad… Until they did… The day I decided to quit smoking was a glorious day, but with all the stress and problems that were on my head at that point I never thought, not only for a moment, about the fact that I will be experiencing weight problems if I am not careful.

To be frank, even if someone would’ve told me that I couldn’t have cared less, because I was overwhelmed by the idea of not touching cigarettes again. But my struggle with nicotine addition is a completely different story…

Weight gain when you quit smoking is going to happen no matter what you do mostly because most smokers are usually malnourished already. Even if this is not visible in the pounds they weight, they surely lack plenty vitamins and minerals and the protein metabolism in they bodies in all messed up. Also, smokers tend to forget about sports, because if they smoke long enough they will feel unable to do some basic exercises. If I tried to run for only a couple of feet, I would feel a burning pain in my chest and the shorted breath stopped me every time. Also, when I was smoking I was consuming a lot less water than normal. Mainly because with every cigarette I lighted I needed something to go along with it and that was usually a cup of coffee. Drinking all that coffee disallowed by body to feel thirsty…or hungry. After quitting, all the thirst and hunger sensation were back and stronger than ever. I was like being born again, and I was happy to see the food tasting better, but never thought about weight gain when you quit smoking issues. Not at that point.

And the months passed, and everyone was congratulating me and the pounds continued to add until it was obvious that I was beginning to fell tired and unwell again. This time it wasn’t the nicotine and coffee that made me feel like that, this time was all that extra fat that was a new addition to by body. Maybe if you are a bit overweighed by nature you feel differently when you gain a bit of weight, but for me this was like a true torture: each pound seemed to weight as much as ten. I was really tired and I went to see my doctor. All my eating, all the fats and sweets caused me to almost double my weight is less than a year. That was huge and the doctor said that I was almost obese. Me, obese!

At this point I had to turn to those friends I used to laugh at back when I had no weight problems. Now it was their turn to laugh, but they didn’t. Instead they helped me lose the weight I’ve gained. You see, having to deal with weight problems their entire lives changed the way they treat others with the same issues, because they understand. I couldn’t understand before, so I was mean to them. We decided that I needed a diet to return me to normal weight. It took me almost another year to do this, and the weight gain when you quit smoking effects are still visible sometimes, because I didn’t know how to stop in time. The frequent eating I did affected my metabolism in so many ways that it is very hard to speed it up efficiently. Anyway, with lost of efforts, I managed to regain a rather normal weight, but I’m on a regular diet plan. Not really a diet but more like a healthy eating plan: I eat cereals, raw foods and foods that are not very processed and fish or chicken, and also seeds. But the main thing that turned my life around was exercising. Without my daily running hour I would still be overweighed.

If I were to quit smoking again now, with all my knowledge against weight gain when you quit smoking I would do everything quite differently. Maybe a minimal weight gain would still occur, but I wouldn’t double my weight for sure. When you quit smoking you can go for a simple detox diet. That should keep you off eating unhealthy stuff because you are stress at least for one or two weeks. The best choice is a meat free diet or a raw food diet. Then, I would try do exercise the very first day I quit. Since the nicotine is gone, why worry I will get tired? I might be hard at first but things will only get better in time. In a word, I would do everything in my power not to let smoking further ruin my life even after I’ve decided to quit.

Healthy EatingIf you want to become one of those people than have no worries about weight, or at least they don’t show that they do, you really have to build up some healthy eating basic habits. In the end, it is all about habits and about things we consider normal or not. I am a person that used to run away the very minutes I saw cooked vegetable on my plate. I did that when I was a boy, and continued to do it later on. If my wife cooked non fat stuff, then it wasn’t for me, I was going to dine out, which of course meant getting a hamburger or something from around the corner. And you can only imagine the effects of all this junk food on my body.

I can’t say that I used to be obese, but I can say that I’ve been overweighed my entire life, and this wasn’t really something I’ve chosen to do in my adulthood, it is a thing that was allowed to develop and flourish from the time I was an infant. I’m not blaming my parents, I’m rather blaming society for their healthy eating guidelines. I mean, it’s clear that there are obvious obesity tendencies in children. You can see that by the clothes sizes. I happen to have a toddler daughter that is not overweight as most kids are. And because she is fit, we have a lot of trouble finding clothes that fit her well: the ones for her age are too loose, even if they are right in heights. There are less and less companies that make clothes for normally weight children, because with the entire obesity tendency amongst infants they would have no clients.

But to return to my weight problems. My main concern was that I did not have the healthy eating basics and I was afraid to find out what those healthy eating tips were… In the end, even if it was hard to start, I managed to gather some information about healthy eating basics and they prove to be not that scary as they initially appeared. I mean, I was completely out of control a first thinking that I’m going to eat lettuce with carrots with a slice of cereal bread the entire day. I’m sure that many others feel just the way I did because they are not accustomed to eating healthy.

The truth is that the healthy eating plan can be easily turned into a habit if you have the necessary will. It’s all down to routine. If we are accustomed to certain types of foods, the organism will ask for them. So, a diet than brakes the negative habits is needed. A drastic diet, that forbids even aliments which you can actually consume in a healthy diet. I’ve chosen a true vegetarian diet, no meat what so ever, and took it for three weeks. I did not starve myself at all, if anything I actually ate a bigger food quantity but the calories were low.

After that, I found it a lot easier to stay away from all fat foods, from constant sweet treats and middle day salted snacks. Instead, I chose to eat apples or bananas, dietetic biscuits or yogurts. As far as meals go, they are normal meals orientated towards a healthy life style, excluding any high cholesterol products and most over processed sugars from alimentation.

I did finally, but it has been very hard. This is why I consider it is crucial to give your children healthy eating basics from the time they are babies. They should not be fat, as everyone thinks it’s cute…this will affect more than 80% of them on their way to adulthood. Only 20 percent of the over weighted infants will manage to turn into normal weighted toddler and small children. Think about that for a while when you are trying to stuff your baby with some more food just because the neighbor’s child is a lot fatter, and everyone says that when it comes to babies fat means healthy…believe me, it doesn’t. And abusing children’s diets will turn them in little gourmands. I know that every parent is happy to see his child eating but eating all the time when the child is already a bit fat has no good ending.
